Sending Scores to PGCC
Prince George's Community College (PGCC) will accept certain placement test scores taken for other accredited institutions and apply them to your student record at PGCC. You will be able to use these transferred scores to register for courses. At this time, we only accept proctored scores from ALEKS-PPL and ACCUPLACER tests, taken within the past four (4) years.
Transfer ACCUPLACER Scores Online
Please read these official instructions to share test scores with PGCC or send them to any other institution who uses ACCUPLACER. Then use the ACCUPLACER student portal to transfer the scores. The College can only accept the following ACCUPLACER test scores for placement: Reading; WritePlacer; Arithmetic; Quantitative Reasoning, Algebra & Statistics (QAS); and Advanced Algebra & Functions (AAF). Students with Accuplacer Writing scores may be required to take the WritePlacer test at PGCC.
Transfer Proctored ALEKS-PPL Scores Online
If you took an ALEKS-PPL test, you may be able to request the score transfer yourself. If you can log into your ALEKS-PPL account from Prince George's Community College or another institution, use this ALEKS-PPL score transfer guide to transfer scores. The ALEKS-PPL school code for PGCC is 79E5AAD and the College can only accept proctored scores. If you are sending PGCC ALEKS-PPL scores to another institution, you will need their ALEKS-PPL school code to transfer scores. Please ensure that other institutions will transfer or accept ALEKS-PPL scores before requesting or sending them.
Offline Request to Transfer Scores to PGCC
If you cannot transfer your scores to Prince George's Community College using the ACCUPLACER or ALEKS-PPL websites, please try to request a transfer from your previous institution.
- Contact the institution where you took placement tests, and confirm whether they are willing to send the original score report to PGCC. Make sure that your scores are no more than four (4) years old. Keep the contact information for the department who will fulfill your request.
- Print the pre-filled MCTA Test Score Transfer Form.
- Complete and sign the Student's Contact Information section. Institutions will not transfer scores without your signature.
- Complete the Testing Institution section with the contact information from Step 1. (Do not sign this section.)
- Submit the form to your previous institution in person, if possible. Otherwise, scan or take a clear, readable picture of your completed transfer form. Attach the picture to an email to your previous institution, along with anything else that they require to initiate a score transfer.
- The College's Testing Center can answer questions from your previous institution at testingcenter@pgcc.edu.
Offline Request to Send Scores to Other Institutions
If online options fail, the PGCC Testing Center can send most ACCUPLACER or ALEKS-PPL scores to other institutions, if they are less than 4 years old. Self-placement codes and other internal placement systems are for exclusive use by the College and cannot be transferred. Most importantly, please check the receiving institution's rules and procedures for score transfers to ensure that it will be allowed. Use our email address below to request this service, if the online options don't work.
