What is PLAN?
Prior Learning Assessment Network (PLAN) is a program that enables students to earn college credit by converting work and life experience into college-level learning. PLAN allows students the opportunity for their personal and professional experiences to be evaluated for college credit through portfolio assessment.
How Can PLAN Benefit Me?
- PLAN can jump-start your college education.
- Make your work/life experience count.
- Allow you to complete your degree in fewer semesters.
What Qualifications Must I Have?
- Two or more years of work or volunteer experience in the field or discipline in which you are seeking a degree or certificate.
How Do I Get Started?
- Complete the College's application for admission if you are not currently enrolled as a student.
- Submit official transcripts from other colleges, universities, and training programs to the Office of Records and Registration for evaluation.

What Else Do I Need to Know?
- There are many courses that students can earn college credit toward their degree through portfolio assessment.
- Portfolios are evaluated by designated faculty.
- A maximum of 15 credits per associate degree can be earned through portfolio assessment.
- If you plan to transfer, consult with an academic adviser before enrolling in PLAN.
