Important Information

Please submit all financial aid applications and supporting documents to the Financial Aid Office as early as possible to ensure that the determination and award process go smoothly.

Missing or incomplete paperwork will delay the determination of your financial aid eligibility. If the determination is delayed, be prepared to pay all tuition and fees yourself or sign up for the tuition payment plan. These payments may be reimbursed once financial aid is authorized.

How Aid Awards Work

  • According to federal guidelines, your total need-based aid and outside resources cannot exceed your calculated financial need.
  • If your financial aid has been processed, you should see the amount you are eligible for printed on your bill as Financial Aid Awarded.
  • Please contact the Financial Aid Office if you believe you have been awarded financial aid that does not appear on your bill. We are located in Bladen Hall, Room 121. You may also email us at finaid@pgcc.edu or call us at 301-546-0822.

Important Financial Aid Policies

Satisfactory Academic Progress Policy

Federal and state regulations require the Financial Aid Office to monitor the academic progress of potential and current financial aid recipients.

Applicants must comply with the Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) Policy as a condition of initial or continuing eligibility. A student's academic progress will be reviewed at the end of each semester.

Students who do not meet SAP criteria will not see aid posted on their tuition bills.
