Our Help Desk Technology certificate program prepares students to support a client’s technology concerns. Students will learn the fundamentals of help desk organization, basic help desk assessments and functions, productivity measurements and problem resolution, software technologies to track and monitor the help desk infrastructure, and much more.

TEC-451 Help Desk Technology: Part One

This class is for those who want to work in the help desk environment. This lecture-only class will cover the basics of help desk/department operation and the standard tools and processes for the support environment—prerequisites: A basic understanding of personal computers, network environments, and Windows (any version).

This continuation of Help Desk Technology: Part One, which will introduce help desk software. Prerequisites: A basic understanding of the personal computer, Help Desk Technology: Part One, and Windows (any version).

Students will explore typical Windows and Microsoft Word error messages in this nine-hour class and see how to resolve them. No text is required. Prerequisite: Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Word.

TEC-455 Troubleshoot Excel: Help Desk

In this six-hour class, students will be shown typical MS Excel software error messages and learn how to resolve them. No text is required. Prerequisite: Working knowledge of MS Windows (version XP or later) and Introduction to Excel or equivalent experience.
