Free summer STEM enrichment program for middle school students!
About This Program
Through this program, middle school youth will learn coding, 3D printing, augmented and virtual reality, and entrepreneurship through on-campus summer courses.
To support under-represented populations in STEM fields, the Verizon Foundation — through its education initiative Verizon Innovation Learning — works with middle school youth nationwide to teach next-generation tech skills and entrepreneurship. By offering advanced STEM courses and hands-on enrichment programs, students from underrepresented populations will have an even greater chance of achieving academic success.
The Verizon Innovative Learning program will focus on providing STEM and entrepreneurial skills to underserved middle school youth throughout the school year, beginning with a four-week, hands-on summer camp hosted on college campuses. The summer camp is followed by two recruitment sessions through the host campus.
In partnership with leading educational nonprofit organizations, Verizon Foundation's mission is to inspire students to pursue careers in STEM to create better futures for themselves and their communities. Prince George's Community College is excited to join Verizon’s mission of ensuring digital inclusion so that all students have an equal opportunity to a brighter future.
