Prince George's Community College's Security Officer Training Academy is an intensive 80-hour program that satisfies the increasing demands of the security industry. This unarmed training program will prepare the student to enter the challenging private security field.
Program Information
Training for job opportunities in a growing market is offered at a minimal cost. Additional fees apply to out-of-county residents. Textbook is required.
This program covers the following topics:
- Ethics and professionalism.
- Patrol and observation.
- Arrest powers and the law.
- Emergency procedures.
- First aid.
- Terrorism and unknown substances.
- Customer service.

How to Apply
A detailed application must be completed to be accepted into the Security Officer Program. A limited background check will be completed prior to acceptance into the class.
