Prepare for a cardiac care career and master EKG technology.
Program Overview
Our electrocardiogram (EKG) technician program equips students with the fundamental knowledge and skills necessary for performing EKGs. The curriculum delves into the electrical events that generate the various waveforms observed on an EKG. These waveforms facilitate identifying and comprehending the standard three-, five-, and twelve-lead EKGs. The program comprehensively covers the most prevalent disturbances and life-threatening cardiac rhythms encountered in patients. Students will learn to recognize pacemaker rhythms, Holter monitoring, and stress monitoring techniques and impart basic patient care principles.
This program comprises a 12-week curriculum facilitated by Zoom classes held every Saturday and in-lab skills training sessions scheduled for Wednesdays in the evening.
