About This Program

PGCC has partnered with the Chesapeake Chapter of the International Facility Management Association (IFMA) to offer the IFMA Facility Management Professional (FMP) Credential Program designed to teach early-to-mid-career and transitioning facility management professionals and industry suppliers.

If you are an early to mid-career facility management practitioner, transitioning into the profession, or an industry supplier, the Facility Management Professional (FMP) credential can help you earn the knowledge and respect you need to succeed.

MGT-710 Facility Management Professional (FMP)

This continuing education course prepares students for the Facility Management Professional credential. Topics include operations and maintenance, project management, finance and business, and leadership and strategy.

To earn the FMP credential, you must successfully complete the four modules and pass the four online module exams.

Operations and Maintenance for FMP

Receive an introduction to operations and maintenance and learn how to assess facility needs. You will also learn how to manage and oversee the operations and maintenance of buildings, systems, equipment, and occupant services. You will explore how to select the best resources and how to measure and optimize operations and maintenance performance.

Project Management for FMP

Learn how to define, plan, manage, oversee, and close projects.

Finance and Business Essentials for FMP

Learn finance and business essentials in facility organizations, preparing you for addressing contracts and procurement.

Leadership and Strategy Essentials

Learn the benefits of strategic planning, how to lead and manage facility organizations, and how to serve in a leadership role.
