Coursework
Students who successfully complete the courses listed here will earn a Prince George's Community College Certificate for the Management and Supervision Program.

Course Descriptions
MGT-463 Developing Supervisory Skills 1.2 CEUs
This course is designed to provide participants with the skills needed to be effective front-line supervisors. Participants are provided information on leadership and management and why the role of supervisors is so important to an organization. The core content of this course is the development of the behaviors and skills needed to achieve the outcomes of their unit.

MGT-756 Assessing Employee Performance 1.2 CEUs
This course is designed to provide participants with the skills and knowledge to assess employees' performance in large and small organizations. Participants will learn the difference between performance appraisal and management and the work situations that favor one method instead of the other.

MGT-757 Human Resource Management Skills for Supervisors 1.2 CEUs
This course is designed to provide participants with the skills and knowledge to effectively use the human resources department or the human resource individual to manage their employees effectively. The scope and responsibilities of human resources will be provided, whether they work for a large or small organization. Participants will learn how to maximize their departmental outcomes by effectively using the support and information under the human resources department's responsibilities or the individual responsible for the human resources function.

MGT-602 Grammar and Proofreading 1.8 CEUs
Take an in-depth look at the professional writing process and common writing problems. Study basic parts of the sentence, reviewing punctuation, spelling, verb usage, and effective proofreading. This course is recommended but not required to take MGT-434. Instructor: Kym-Marie Clarke Hart.

MGT-434 Business Writing Intensive 1.8 CEUs
Students are instructed in a five-step writing process that includes preparation, research, organization, writing a draft, and revision, using real-world examples of correspondence, reports, meeting minutes, sales letters, and more! Recommended prerequisite: MGT-602. Instructor: Kym-Marie Clarke Hart.

eLearning Methods at PGCC
Online Classes: Learn on Your Own Time Online
Students taking an online class can access course content 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and engage in discussions using Canvas with their instructors and fellow learners. Instructors will set deadlines and due dates for assignments, tests, projects, and other coursework.
Remote Classes: Learn in Real Time
Students taking a remote class will meet online via the Canvas platform at scheduled times. Students will access learning materials, view assignments, and participate in discussions via Canvas.
