Apprenticeship Information

This program also enables you to embark on a career pathway to lodging and hotel management while earning an associate's degree.

Our Lodging and Hotel Management Apprenticeship teaches the skills and methods for working as an entry-level or mid-level manager in hotels, restaurants, resorts, and other establishments that offer food and beverage services or accommodations.

Our comprehensive 12-month program includes learning how to:
  • Serve in entry-level or mid-level management roles within the hospitality industry.
  • Manage fundamental lodging operations competently.
  • Meet with clients to plan and schedule details for conventions, banquets, receptions, and other events.
  • Apply sound cost control and financial management skills, such as setting room rates, creating budgets, and allocating funds to various departments.
  • Utilize problem-solving skills to address managerial challenges in the hospitality and tourism industry.
  • Exhibit foundational managerial techniques and supervisory skills, including human resource management.
  • Organize event services, such as accommodations and transportation for attendees, facilities, catering, signage, displays, special requirements, printing, and event security.
  • Operate by industry standards of legal, ethical, and service practices.
Earn a Certificate

Graduates of this program will earn a Department of Labor Certificate of Completion of Apprenticeship.

Admission Requirements

  • 18 years of age or older by the program's start date, or at least 16 years of age in the School to Apprenticeship (youth apprenticeship) program with parental consent.
  • Have a high school diploma or equivalent, or be a dually enrolled high school senior.
  • Have a valid driver's license or access to reliable transportation.
  • Ability to meet physical job requirements.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
  • Complete an initial program screening and employment interview.
