Heather Ossandon is a professor of art at Prince George’s Community College. She creates ceramics that reflect her distinct background. Throughout her career, she has traveled through Asia, Central America, Europe, and the U.S. These experiences have cultivated techniques and methods that are incorporated into her studio practice. Focusing on functional pottery and sculptural still life, traditional practices, and everyday objects are the spotlight of her work. She received her B.F.A. from Montclair State University, NJ, and her M.F.A. from the University of Delaware. She is the recipient of a Maker-Creator Fellowship from the Winterthur Museum in Delaware and has attended residencies in Sanboa Studios, China, AIR Vallauris, France, Rancho Mastatal, Costa Rica, and Sugar Maples Center for the Arts, NY, to name a few.
Ossandon operates HEOS Ceramics in Baltimore, MD. She has shown her artworks both nationally and internationally.
