The Center for Performing Arts is wheelchair accessible and offers the following services to enhance the experience of guests with disabilities:
Assistive Listening Devices
Free infrared assistive listening devices are available from the ticket office. These devices may be used with or without a hearing aid from any seat in any of the facility’s six venues. For hearing aids that work with a “T” switch, please request an induction neck loop.
Audio Described Performances
An audio description of the onstage activities provided via an FM receiver may be requested by emailing contact-cpa@pgcc.edu or calling 301-546-7CPA (7272). At least three weeks advance notice is needed, and the service is subject to the availability of a qualified describer.
Large Print Programs
Large print programs are available from a house manager at select performances.
Alternative program formats such as Braille are available with at least two weeks advance notice. To request an alternative program, email contact-cpa@pgcc.edu or call 301-546-7CPA (7272).
Parking
Free parking spaces for vehicles with valid DMV disability parking permits are available on a first-come, first-served basis. See the campus map for locations of accessible parking spaces.
Restrooms
All restrooms in the Center for Performing Arts are wheelchair accessible. Ushers can direct guests to the nearest location.
Sign Language Interpretation
A sign language interpreter is available for any performance with at least three weeks advance notice. Requests may be made by emailing contact-cpa@pgcc.edu or calling 301-546-7CPA (7272). This service is subject to the availability of suitable seating and a qualified interpreter.
Wheelchair Accessible Seating and Entrances
Please request accessible seating when purchasing tickets. The ticket office staff is trained to help guests select the seating that best meets their individual needs.
The main entrance to the facility is equipped with power doors, each of the venues has an accessible entrance, and house managers can direct guests to the accessible entrance closest to their seat.
