Largo, MD — Prince George's Community College (PGCC) proudly announces a partnership with Bowie State University (BSU), marking a historic milestone in student success initiatives. The two institutions have solidified their shared commitment to higher education through a comprehensive umbrella agreement that represents their most significant transfer partnership to date.

Encompassing over 20 individual articulation agreements, this monumental collaboration streamlines the transfer process for PGCC students to ensure they can maximize their earned credits and seamlessly transition to BSU to achieve their academic and career goals.

This initiative reflects PGCC's strategic shift to umbrella agreements and underscores the College’s commitment to simplify and enhance transfer pathways for students.

It also commemorates a significant achievement under the leadership of Dr. Clayton Railey, PGCC’s executive vice president and provost of teaching, learning, and student success. As Dr. Railey prepares for his upcoming retirement, this partnership highlights the legacy of his dedication to advance equitable access to higher education and create life-changing opportunities for students.

“At Prince George's Community College, we remain steadfast in our mission to create accessible pathways for our students,” said Dr. Falecia D. Williams, president of Prince George's Community College. “Our expanded partnership with Bowie State University stands as a testament to the power of collaboration to unlock new possibilities for student success. This umbrella agreement streamlines the transfer process and ensures our students have the tools, resources, and support to continue their academic journeys confidently.”

This partnership also reflects PGCC’s strategic focus on impactful collaborations that address the diverse needs of its student population. By leveraging resources and expertise from both institutions, the agreement creates a comprehensive framework for students to thrive academically and professionally. With a shared vision of empowering students, this initiative represents a forward-thinking approach to higher education that aligns with regional workforce demands and opportunities for lifelong learning.

“The partnership with Bowie State University exemplifies Prince George’s Community College’s commitment to deliver high-quality, transformative learning experiences,” said Dr. Railey. “As the region’s premier center for dynamic teaching, strategic partnerships, and community engagement, PGCC continues to provide pathways that empower students to achieve their goals and contribute to economic equity and lifelong development.”
