LARGO, MD (July 11, 2024) — Prince George’s Community College (PGCC) is proud to be selected for the Expanding SUCCESS initiative, announced by Governor Wes Moore. This initiative, developed in partnership with the Maryland Higher Education Commission and MDRC, aims to reduce inequities in college completion by providing coaching, financial support, and other community resources to community college students.

Governor Moore emphasized the importance of this initiative in supporting all Marylanders, stating, "Together, we are building a Maryland where everyone has the opportunity to thrive and achieve."

As part of this initiative, PGCC will receive $125,000 in funding to implement evidence-based advising models and comprehensive student support to improve college completion and economic mobility rates for students of color and students from low-income families.

"We are honored to be part of the Expanding SUCCESS initiative," said PGCC President Dr. Falecia D. Williams. "This support will enable us to provide our students with the resources and guidance they need to succeed in their academic pursuits and beyond."

“This initiative aligns with our mission to support and empower our students,” said PGCC Dean of Student Success and Advisement Crystal Smith. “The funding and resources provided through Expanding SUCCESS will significantly impact our ability to help students achieve their educational goals."

Information for Students: For detailed information and resources related to the initiative, please view the PGCC Connect Advisor Student Hub (CASH) program information page.
