Celebrate Black History Month at Prince George's Community College

LARGO, Md. (February 14, 2024) In celebration of Black History Month, Prince George’s Community College is excited to announce a series of engaging events throughout this month. These events are designed to honor the rich heritage, contributions, and achievements of Black Americans past and present. 

Wednesday, February 14

11:45 a.m. (Virtual) – Financial Empowerment Center's Black History Discussion: Black Economic Future with Author and Chef Keidi-Awadu.

Friday, February 16

7:00 p.m. (Center for Performing Arts) – Afrofuturism Black History Show. To purchase tickets, click here

Wednesday, February 21

11:45 a.m. (Virtual) – Financial Empowerment Center: Consumerism in Black America.

Saturday, February 24

Noon – 3 p.m. (Culinary Arts Center) - Chef demo and tasting, followed by a screening of the documentary "James Hemings: Ghost in America's Kitchen." To register, click here.

Wednesday, February 28

11:45 a.m. (Virtual) – Financial Empowerment Center: Encore Financial Lessons of MLK.

3:30 p.m. (Center for Health Studies, Room 1418) – 65th Anniversary Speaker Series featuring Julia Bethea.
