College Ranks among the 2022 Most Promising Places to Work
LARGO, Md. (June 21, 2022) – Prince George's Community College (PGCC) ranks among the 2022 Most Promising Places to Work in Community Colleges, according to the findings of a national study conducted by the higher education magazine Diverse: Issues in Higher Education, in partnership with the National Institute for Staff and Organizational Development (NISOD). The results appeared recently in Diverse.
"Prince George's Community College is honored to be named a Most Promising Places to Work in Community Colleges for the second consecutive year," said Falecia D. Williams, Ed.D., president of Prince George's Community College. "Our community continues to use the momentum ushered in by the pandemic to inform our work beyond the crisis in a powerful, collaborative way. Employees are ready for change, and the College is, too. We realize that embracing the evolving dynamic of the employer-employee partnership is a win-win – for our faculty and staff and also for our students who are at the heart of all that we do."
Diverse magazine covers higher education news related to equity and inclusion.
The 24 institutions selected for the honor were ranked for their workplace diversity, work environment, and staffing practices, among other factors that make them great places in which to work. The study also focused on family friendliness, salaries and benefits, and professional development opportunities.
"We are very excited to be named one of the Most Promising Places to Work in Community Colleges," said Lynne Adams, Ph.D., vice president for PGCC's Equity, Culture, and Talent. "Our faculty and staff are the secret sauce, ensuring that our students are leaving the College better than when they came through the door (physically or virtually). We help our PGCC team be the very best version of themselves by providing opportunities to develop professionally and personally with moments to celebrate. I am so proud to be part of the PGCC Owls team and always welcome new Owls to join us."
