Prince George’s Community College and Southern New Hampshire University Announce Partnership in Support of Students

Articulation agreement provides tuition discount and guided career pathways

LARGO, Md. (January 19, 2021) – Prince George’s Community College (PGCC) announced today a new articulation agreement with Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU), the largest nonprofit provider of online higher education in the country. The partnership allows Prince George’s Community College graduates to transfer to SNHU to complete a bachelor’s degree at a discounted rate.

The articulation agreement between the institutions expands student access to educational opportunities, providing a seamless transition to guided pathways in a number of fields, including business administration, computer science, criminal justice, cybersecurity, nursing, and psychology. See the full list here. Prince George’s Community College students, employees, and immediate family members are eligible to receive the 10% tuition discount provided by the articulation agreement.

“At Southern New Hampshire University, we partner with a number of community colleges across the country to help students continue their education, and we’re proud to be teaming up with Prince George’s Community College,” said Jennifer Batchelor, interim senior vice president of global campus, SNHU. “Through this new partnership, thousands of learners will have the opportunity to seamlessly transfer their credits to SNHU and continue on their educational journey.”

To benefit from the articulation agreement, Prince George’s Community College students must complete an associate degree at the College, and then apply and be admitted to Southern New Hampshire University. Prince George’s Community College students can transfer up to 90 credits toward a bachelor’s degree at SNHU. Residency requirements equate to 30 credit hours or ten classes.

“Prince George’s Community College’s new articulation agreement with Southern New Hampshire University creates a valuable career pipeline for our students, maximizing their time and resources,” said Aundrea Wheeler, assistant vice president for curriculum, programs, and regulation. “Partnerships like this one strengthen our impact and reinforce our capacity-building efforts.
