PRINCE GEORGE'S COMMUNITY COLLEGE HOSTS
VIRTUAL COMMENCEMENT ON JUNE 15

LARGO, Md. (June 11, 2020) – Commencement for the 2020 graduates of Prince George's Community College (PGCC) will be held on June 15 at 6 p.m., hosted for the first time in a virtual format.

Speakers will include Prince George's Community College President Dr. Charlene Dukes, Board of Trustees Chair Sidney Gibson, and Mikhail Floresca, president of the Student Government Association. Dr. Clayton Railey, executive vice president and provost of Teaching, Learning, and Student Success, will also speak at the virtual commencement ceremony.

The event will premiere on the PGCC-TV cable channels and Verizon FIOS 44, Comcast Xfinity 75, and on XFINITY channel 995 in HD. The ceremony will also stream on the PGCC-TV YouTube channel with closed captioning for the hearing-impaired. Viewers on YouTube will be able to post live comments while they watch.

Special messages from elected officials and community members will be included in the virtual event, produced by the College's TV station, PGCC-TV. Leading up to commencement, Prince George's Community College will also celebrate its 2020 graduates on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook at @pgccnews.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, virtual events have replaced traditional commencement ceremonies at hundreds of colleges and universities in the region.
