LARGO, Md. (May 6, 2020) – Prince George’s Community College today released a joint public service announcement featuring the presidents of each of the 16 community colleges located in Maryland. “We Are All In This Together!” is the message to students during the COVID-19 pandemic, and the college presidents offer encouragement and advice.
The nearly two-minute public service announcement opens with Dr. Charlene M. Dukes, president of Prince George’s Community College, who states that “We are one Maryland, 16 community colleges strong. We know that Maryland’s economy is dependent upon our strong community colleges and the students we serve.”
The video goes on to feature each of the community college presidents, offering their thoughts on the pandemic, reminding students that resources are available to them, and sharing advice. The presidents also pledge their continued support for student success in this environment of online classes, and they urge students to “Stay strong, stay safe, and please stay home.” Students who must go out are implored in the public service announcement to wear a face mask for their own sake and the sake of others.
