Vice President for Equity, Culture, and Talent
Chanelle Whittaker earned a Bachelor of Arts from Howard University in Washington, D.C., and a Doctor of Jurisprudence from Hofstra University School of Law in Hempstead, NY.
Ms. Whittaker joined Prince George’s Community College (PGCC) in February 2023 as Vice President of Equity, Culture, and Talent. In this role, she oversees talent, change and organization management, training, and development.
Ms. Whittaker has served in a leadership capacity as vice chancellor and director within higher education for the past 13 years. As an executive leader, Ms. Whittaker oversaw district-wide functions for human resources, employee and labor relations, diversity, equity and inclusion, and legal affairs.
Prior to entering higher education, Ms. Whittaker enjoyed a legal career focusing on labor and employment, civil litigation, and civil rights.
Throughout Ms. Whittaker’s career, she has shown dedication to advancing racial equity, diversity, and inclusion. She has created several diversity programs of distinction that have garnered more than $50,000 in funding awarded by the State of California.
Ms. Whittaker is committed to collaboration and dedicated to employee and community engagement.
